Wrap a Gift That You Can Be Proud Of

“It’s a wrap!”

Oh, we’d love to be on a Hollywood set and hear those words. Who doesn’t want to be a star? Ah… the attention, the red carpet, the flashing of cameras.

You CAN be a star. While I cannot promise that you will make it to the bright lights of L.A., most of us will soon be sitting around the twinkling lights of Christmas trees. And that’s a place where each of us can be a star – the one who gives the finest gifts, wrapped with love and care.

It’s not too early to start thinking about the holidays. I hope that you’ve read my tips for successful holiday shopping!

Now, as long as you are shopping online for gifts, why not pick up everything that you need to make your gift look and feel spectacular?

I’m going to give you a few hints on how to wrap with style and grace. Forget reading the expensive how-to books or trying to keep up with Martha. You can wrap any gift with panache.

First step: think inside the box. Tissue, raffia, “crinkle” – a search for any of these items (hint: search under “gift basket supplies”) will yield all that you need to surround your gift with luxury.

Next: the box itself. You can certainly search eBay for “gift box” but expect to find more than 10,000 items! My advice is to narrow the search. Look for a “vintage box” (if you are giving the gift of an antique item); narrow your search even more by looking for “vintage box –with” to eliminate vintage items that come with a box.

If you are giving the gift of jewelry, of course you could search for “jewelry box” but why not get a little more creative? If your recipient collects frogs (let’s not judge here, some people do love the little critters), search for “frog box” and you will find hundreds of boxes so beautiful that you won’t even need to add wrapping paper!

That leads us to the wrapping paper, if you need it. Try a search for “handmade paper” and you will be amazed by the array of papers from which to choose. If you’d prefer to use paper that you have on hand, don’t forget that “scrapbook embellishments” are available in every conceivable theme, and make perfect add-ons to your wrapped gift.
