Wait, repeat that? That's right, I said "being your own affiliate". It's actually quite simple. First, you must signup for an affiliate account with eBay at http://affiliates.ebay.com/. From that point on you can earn a percentage of eBay's revenue generated from any sale sent by a link with your affiliate ID in it.
Similar to most affiliate programs you're simply being paid a referral commission for sending a visitor to eBay who actually completes a transaction. So, the question is how can you turbo-charge your earnings by becoming an affiliate?
The strategy is to use Internet advertising such as Google Adwords or even your own website's traffic to send visitors to your own auctions but through you eBay affiliate ID. A visitor who makes a purchase will result in you receiving a share of revenue on your own item!!! A sold item (you make money) and an affiliate commission (again, you make money) all in one swoop. Now that is a win-win situation.
So, whether or not you pursue aggressive online advertising to drive traffic through these affiliate links which are pointed to your own items, you should at least be using these affiliate links whenever placing links to your auctions no matter where you place those links.
Lastly, remember that you can also earn a commission for sending a visitor who is not yet an eBay member---but then signs up and places a bid. You can currently earn $12.00 to $22.00 on top of the affiliate commission, and of course your own profit if they buy your item. That's 3 ways to earn off one visitor. In the online auction space that's unbeatable, really!
